Enjoy a wonderful holiday at Hotel Rößle! Located in the Strick district of Todtmoos in the Black Forest, you’ll find our hotel and our newly built Black Forest village with chalets! “Making a virtue out of necessity” – in this case, is not just a saying. The Rößle has been family-owned since 1670, meaning it has been in the family for over 350 years. It is currently run by the ninth generation, but the tenth is already on the way. We view our long history as a commitment to sustainability and environmentally conscious business practices. We have also been EMAS certified since 2010.
For several years, we’d been toying with the idea of expanding our Hotel Rößle by building chalets. Due to the very dry summers of 2018 and 2019, the bark beetle infestation in the Black Forest spread so rapidly that large, mature trees died. Simply processing these old trees for firewood was out of the question for us. This challenge gave rise to an inspiration: the majestic trees should continue to live in our chalets and offer our guests a unique connection to the nature of the Black Forest.

Traditional craftsmanship meets natural charm
This is how our Black Forest village with the 4 wooden chalets was created in 2020 Made entirely from our own wood. The Black Forest-style chalets, built by local craftsmen, are equipped with many special features: two bedrooms, one of which is on a gallery, a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, pinewood furniture, and much more. The unobstructed view is particularly special. The Chalet Hotel is located directly on a protected meadow in Todtmoos. This means you can enjoy the sun and the fantastic view from your chalet in the Southern Black Forest or simply relax in the evening with a good glass of wine. The names of the chalets in the Black Forest are also special: Schneflerhüsle, saw, milk hüsle or blacksmith.
